San Pedro cactus is native to South America along the Andes mountains. The history of San Pedro is intertwined with South American culture, with the plant being used for spiritual and entheogenic divination.
San Pedro, like Peyote cactus, is mostly known for a psychoactive alkaloid it contains called mescaline.
