Kratom
(Mitragyna speciosa)
Kratom is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia where it has long been used as a traditional medicine and psychoactive. Kratom contains the psychoactive alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
There are three primary types, notated by their vein colors, each with their own general effects:
Red Vein - calming, relaxing, pain relief, and a sleep-aid.
White Vein - uplifting, euphoria, and stimulating.
Green Vein - a combination of red and white vein effects.
“Gold” is a mixture of all three veins.
Compared to both opioids and stimulants, kratom is mostly used for pain, depression, anxiety, stress and recreation. It can induce mild visuals, a warming sensation, empathy and sexual arousal.
*Kratom is illegal in VT, RI, WI, IN, AL, AR and in some cities and counties in other states.
